Alpe Regina
The Bettelmatt cheese is one of the unique treasures of the Piedmontese pastoral culture. Not only is it produced only in the valleys of Ossola, Formazza, and Devero, which border Switzerland, but it is also made by only eight farms here. All farms are located at an altitude of around 2000 meters above sea level and together produce no more than 2000 forms annually. Gabriele Scilligo, along with his team, carefully grazes and manages nearly sixty cows. His cheese is full of scents from the Formazza valley.
