La Zerba
Few people know that the famous Gavi wines are not only made in the village of Gavi but also on the opposite hill in the Tassarolo area. Here the soil is a bit different, redder with a higher mineral content, and the vineyards are higher. In practice, this means that the local wines are more mineral and fuller than the classic ones from Gavi. Not everyone will like it, but many years ago Ida Cozzio and Livio Lorenzi bet on this card and moved to the La Zerba estate. Now the winery is run by their son Andrea Mascherini and his family, and we think he is beautifully continuing what his parents started.
